Is there an easy way of getting the mildewy smell out of old magazines?

I picked up some cool old 1960s Good Housekeeping magazines at an estate sale. They’re in otherwise perfect condition and I didn’t notice they were moldy smelling until later. I don’t know what to do do with them other than seal ‘em up in a garbage bag. Will the moldiness multiply? I don’t have time to wipe them down page by page with Microban or anything. I don’t want to throw them away. Thanks for any suggestions.
Luckily, they’re not in my house.
Miss Molly, please elaborate? What do I do with the baking soda? Dump it in the trash bag with the mags?

Throw them in the trash. It won’t get the smell out of them but it will get the smell out of your house.

You can put them in the freezer to kill the mildew and then you’ll need to deodorize them wih a good airing.
