What pistol has the highest capacity magazine?

A friend of mine asked what pistol had the highest capacity magazine. I had heard a long time ago that police have pistols with 33 round clips, but am not sure.

Glock model 17 and model 19 both can take a magazine that holds 33 rounds…it is a 9mm firearm and can be seen in the matrix movies

police for the most part have the same access to equipment as everyone else.
Police can get 30 round magazines, but they stick a foot out the bottom of the gun, just like anyone else with a 30 round magazine
hum linky not working, go here and scroll down a bit
Para-0rdinance P14 is a 45 single action with a 13 round mag +1 in the pipe, being the original high capactiy 45, recently matched by the Glock 21 (originally 12 rounds, now 13 rounds in the mag after a redesign) and Springfield XD also making a version with a 13 shot mag.
The FN Five-seveN (yes, capitol N on the end) has a flush sitting 20 round magazine, but then it fires the anemic 5.7mm cartridge, good for busting body armor, bad for actually finishing the job after it gets through
Of course all of this is moot if you get a double drum for your glock 18 full auto capable handgun
But those are for Civilians Only, we don’t trust cops with toys like that

technically, a glock 19 (9mm) can hold a 100 round drum mag + one in the chamber, so it’s a 101 round mag

M-100 Calico. The factory mag holds 100 hence the name.

There are or have been several handguns that have VERY large magazines as standard. These are ALL semi-autos.
To the best of MY knowledge, NONE were ever “standard issue” to police, (or military!)
ALMOST all can be fitted with larger magazines, but the problem is legality in some places, and the reduced maneuverability of the long mag sticking out so far below the grip.
There was the Mac10 and Mac11 in 9mm and 45ACP. They had 32 round magazines as standard. (I shortened the mags for my Mac10, 9mm to 30 rounds and 15 rounds, and carried with the 15 round, using the 30 as my “second” mag IF it was ever needed. It NEVER was!!)
There was 1 that was available in 9mm some years ago that had a top mounted 50 round drum mag, but I don’t remember the name.
I have heard of others from time to time.
IF you are a good enough shot, a standard mag should give you enough rounds for almost any “civilian” situation. (1 shot=1 kill!!)

If you are talking straight from factory not after market (comes with the firearm NIB) it is…Sig P226 SCT. 20 + 1
Of course Glocks have hi-cap after market mags. Rugers also has or had a 30 rounder for the p89, and Beretta as well. Both Ruger and Beretta Carbine magazines can be put in selected pistols. Cx4 Storm and Px4 Storm for example.
you can also buy a 50 round drum for a 1911 via Brownell’s I believe.
