Dboys only produces Hicaps for their AK series
but you can buy MAG midcaps for the ak series, and they will fit with little modification.

both are very commonly used, but to my knowlage, and from what i see in pictures, bakelite still ranks supreme. Though a buddy of mine, veteran in the soviet Red army, and later Russian army said the black polymer and plum magazines were viewed as a status symbol.
