    Great vid!!
I too still have all my old mags from those days. I have quite a few GameFan’s among them. I really liked GameFan for their big shiny illustrations.

Video Games and Computer Entertainment was great!!
Yeah I remember that very well..I have quite a few of those from 89ish

Video Games and Computer Entertainment was the **** back in the day. I remember it had better reviews and had a strategy section for a console and pc game every issue, and those were awesome. It was like getting the game experience but without the game.

Nice collection of mags. I have quite a few magazines myself! There’s nothing wrong with keeping them either, so you don’t need to explain it. Nice video btw.

“None of these magazines are worth a penny”?!?
I will buy some from you if you’d like to get rid of them.

Seriously though take a look at eBay. They are worth more than some big name comic books. I just sold 7 issues of Nintendo Fun Club for $250 & that issue of EGM you picked up sold for $133 just last week.

I have many complete runs of EGM, DHGF, GP, NP. You should keep yours safe as the value just keeps climbing. They are an important part of gaming history that should be preserved! :)

Two words: Sega Visions. Lol. The Genesis magazine was amazing! Especially the issue with Shining Force on the cover! And don’t forget Phantasy Star III!!!

I sold my collection of game magazines recently. I had about 500. I just needed the money. I miss them from time to time. Then again, when I had them, I had them all in perfect order , stacked perfectly. And I would just sit here and look at them. So on one hand I miss them, on the other hand, it’s not so bad. Man you must have a good job Mr. HappyConsoleGamer! You have a TON of great stuff.

I think the happy console gamer should get way more views than what he has. He’s way more knowledgeable than AVGN or the Irate Gamer.

I like retro gamer these days, quality british magazine that is all about nostalgia. Hyper in australia is also really good.

Cool video. I have around 700 magazines, going back the the original Nintendo Power, EGM, Gamefan, Gamepro, Game Players, Next Generation, Flux, and numerous others. I just have boxes and boxes of them, but I’ll never throw them away. They’re part of my childhood.

I still have a few copies of Nintendo Power kicking around. I remember getting the issue that promoted the 1st Dragon Warrior on NES. So long ago.. I definitely liked having a physical representation of a game or game info. The internet is amazing in a lot of ways… but it’s *so* instant-gratification.

I still have that Phantasy Star Online issue of Official Dreamcast Magazine. My fave magazine of all time has got to be Gamefan, specifically Volumes 4 and 5 (1996-97)and later, Volume 7 and 8 until its untimely demise. The first subscription I had was Nintendo Power (Still have the inaugural first issue from ‘88). Also enjoyed EGM from issue #28 - #155.. after that it became very jaded and negative.

I would also like to add, I’ve been seeing this mag now called “Play”, not sure how “new” it is as I was out of the loop for abit, I skimmed over an issue at the Borders store in town and the articles were long and full of substance which was nice to see, my gripe these days is the price of the mag has gone up while the mag itself has slimmed down, at least let the consumer feel like there getting their moneys worth. I understand economics but I doesn’t hurt to print a few more pages!!!
