Do you think magazines and Hollywod are making girls anorexic or think they are fat?

I have noticed all these girls in the 4th grade even worried about being fat. It’s just amazing how much girls are worried about that. I mean there are a lot of the people in Hollywood or magazines that girls tend to think they should look like and some people say they should when they don’t. There is a series problem with that. What does everybody else think?

It is certainly contributing.

I agree completely. People dont realize that the girls you see in magazine are edited with the most state of the art programs to get rid of all flaws. Famous people also dont have daily jobs and activities to perform so they have time to hire a personal trainor and have the really expensive low calorie foods. and just because these girls are thin, doesnt mean they are healthy. Who knows how terriblel their lives really are. All because of one picture of a “thin” body, little girls and teenagers want to be like them, and put their own health at risk.

yes, its terrible
Its got so bad, that some runways are refusing to show models who are below a certain percentage of body fat. Young girls are very impressionable and vulnerable to the attraction to thinness.

I think its true. So many girls are into to modeling magizeens and fashion shows, and all the new barbie dolls with pin thin waist and big ******. They are everywhere you go and you can’t escape them, and so all the girls look at them and think “I should look like that”. My friend has this problem, she is just fine weight wise, and because she has a small tummy like you are suppose to, she is convinced that she is obese and should go on a diet. Its like a new trend to be skinny now days. Its a growing problem that is only getting worse.

I am 5′4” and weigh 115 lbs and people say I’m fat all the time even though my doctor says I’m fine. So yes, I think Hollywood is making girls have body-image issues. I sometimes feel very fat and gross compared to the women in movies. And it doesn’t help that my b/f says how hot they are. Bah, men.

i think that odays generation believe they should look like the anorexic models in the magazimes. the media is giving out a negative image of what people should look like and it is messing with the younger generation falsifying what they believe to be the “perfect body”. media is mainly to blame but also if they aren’t watching as much tv or as many magazines? who knows really, they should stay young while they can.

they only contribute a little. the majority of these problems start in the home. children are not born with a sense of self or what’s important in life. the child typically models themselves after the parent. if the parents are to busy with work, their life, etc. the child will obtain these values from other sources, today it seems to be televised media.

It’s so ridiculous! Even stars have their bad days, but of course they’re never posted on Times Square whatever on one of their bad days…they’re airbrushed and yes, they do **** in their stomachs. It’s absurd and unrealistic for girls to compare themselves to top models.

No, people are just becoming stupider and more weak-minded. Instead of blaming ourselves for our own mistakes and idiocy, we prefer to shift the blame onto someone else. It’s much easier that way.
It isn’t the media. It isn’t the peers. It isn’t “society.” It’s the prissy, imbecillic girls who can’t think for themselves.

Yes they are. The moment they start using photoshop to make the models look slimmer then they are they’re creating a nonexisting perfect person which can’t be competed with
